This section contains the basic information about the plan such as the plan type, plan year begin date, plan year end and original effective date. It also contains the permitted contribution sources and compensation options. For the first plan year on the system, make sure all dates are in numeric format as specified in the instructions to the left of the date field. This section is also where users specify the unique participant identifier that will be used for participant upload/download. Options are SSN or Employee number. Note: The ID method selected in the plan's first year in the software should be used in all subsequent years. Changing the ID method will cause account issues including vesting, eligibility, and account balance issues.
